“Back in ‘Merica today and feeling WEIRD. So very glad to see my people here but aching for the family I left behind. Pretty sure this is just the beginning of a lifetime of having my heart invested all across the map. A part of me hates the tension, the paradox of one welcome home costing another set of goodbyes. But I am choosing gratitude over grief. Gratitude for a life that is continually stretched to fit new brothers and sisters that I love more than words describe. Gratitude for faithful friends who know I’ve changed this summer and give me space to process and grow. Gratitude for an eternal home that will gather us all together in one place in peace.
